Joyous Lunar New Year Celebrations at Fo Guang Shan Branch Temples in Sydney
佛光山雪梨道場於農曆新年期間舉辦一系列慶典活動,展現佛法與傳統文化交融。佛光山南天講堂從1月28日至2月2日推出多元活動,包括歲末辭歲普佛法會、新年禮千佛法會與文化市集,吸引300多位信眾參與。
2月4日,國際佛光會雪梨協會代表應邀出席新南威爾斯州政府舉辦的雪梨歌劇院亮燈儀式,新州州長 The Hon. Chris Minns MP 表示,農曆新年象徵新州社會的多元與包容。
2月8日,佛光山北雪梨佛光緣舉辦新春普茶,感謝50位義工護持道場。2月9日,佛光山南天講堂舉行新春慶祝活動,邀請多位政要出席。同日,雪梨協會舉辦新春團拜,近300人齊聚,並授予19位人間佛教宣講員徽章,表彰其弘法貢獻。
Fo Guang Shan branch temples in Sydney celebrated the Lunar New Year with a vibrant series of events that integrated Buddhist teachings with traditional culture. From 28 January to 2 February, Fo Guang Shan Nan Tien Buddhist Temple Parramatta hosted a diverse program, including the Lunar New Year's Eve Blessing Ceremony, the Lunar New Year’s Blessing Ceremony, and lively cultural stalls, drawing over 300 devotees.
On 4 February, representatives from the Buddha’s Light International Association (BLIA) Sydney Chapter were invited to attend the lighting ceremony at the Sydney Opera House, hosted by the New South Wales (NSW) Government. NSW Premier, The Hon. Chris Minns MP, highlighted that Lunar New Year symbolizes the diversity and inclusivity of NSW society.
On 8 February, Fo Guang Shan Nan Tien Buddhist Temple Chatswood hosted a New Year Tea Gathering to express gratitude to 50 volunteers for their unwavering support of the temple. On 9 February, Fo Guang Shan Nan Tien Buddhist Temple Parramatta held a Lunar New Year celebration, attended by numerous dignitaries. On the same day, the BLIA Sydney Chapter organised a New Year Gathering, bringing together nearly 300 participants. During the event, 19 Humanistic Buddhism Lecturers were awarded badges in recognition of their contributions to spreading the Dharma.
