Nan Tien Temple Buddha’s Birthday Festival
佛光山南天寺4月18-21日舉辦佛誕節慶典，以「共生與共榮」為主題，融入「喜悅」元素，吸引近萬名社區民眾參與，體驗佛陀誕生、成道的法喜，進而領略佛法的慈悲智慧，啟發內在的清淨與和諧。澳紐總住持滿可法師期盼大眾透過浴佛禮佛及參與各項活動，深入體會佛陀的無私大愛，將歡喜和諧帶入生活，自利利他，活出喜悅自在的人生。
光影禪心見如來 煩惱即菩提
「我是佛—光影藝術展」由旅澳多媒體藝術家祖天麗以剪紙藝術結合光影技術，展示佛陀降伏三毒與覺悟歷程，帶領觀者穿越煩惱迷霧，體悟內在佛性的光明，吸引3000人參與。
浴佛滌塵 傳遞佛陀智慧
藍毗尼園的五色浴佛台象徵佛陀福德圓滿，信眾排隊浴佛，沐浴在慈悲與清淨之中。佛誕慶典期間舉行毓麟祈福法會，並有「佛陀的一生」拼圖活動、「七步蓮花」體驗及「SDG藝術展」等，以佛教文化啟發善念。南天大學美術館也推出「藝術與AI中的智慧」特展，將AI生成的佛陀故事圖像與星雲大師一筆字書法結合，並舉辦系列藝術工作坊。
From 18 to 21 April, Fo Guang Shan Nan Tien Temple celebrated Buddha’s Birthday with the theme “Coexistence and Coprosperity,” infusing the event with elements of joy and attracting nearly 10,000 members of the local community. Attendees experienced the Dharma joy of the Buddha’s birth and enlightenment, and were inspired by the compassion and wisdom of Buddhism, awakening a sense of inner peace and harmony. Venerable Man Ko, Chief Abbess of Fo Guang Shan Australia and New Zealand, expressed hope that through participating in the Buddha Bathing Ceremony and various festival activities, people would come to truly understand the Buddha’s selfless great love. By bringing joy and harmony into daily life, they may benefit both themselves and others, and live a life of happiness and ease.
Awakening ThroughLight and Shadow: Affliction is Bodhi
“Shadow Art Exhibition: I Am a Buddha” was created by Australia based ultimedia artist Tianli Zu. Using paper- cutting art combined with light and shadow techniques, the exhibition depicts Buddha’s journey to overcome the Three Poisons and attain awakening. It guides viewers through the fog of afflictions to realize that, in Buddhism, affliction is not the enemy of awakening—it is its condition. You are not separate from the Buddha; you are on the same path. The immersive experience attracted around 3,000 visitors.
Bathing the Buddha to Purify and Convey Wisdom
At Lumbini Garden, the five-coloured Buddha bathing platform, inspired by the colours of the Buddhist flag, symbolizes the Buddha’s perfect virtue. Visitors lined up to bathe the Buddha, immersing themselves in compassion and purity. During the Buddha’s Birthday celebrations, a “Baby Blessing Ceremony” was held, along with activities such as the “Life of the Buddha” puzzle, the “Seven Steps of the Lotus” immersive experience, and the SDG Art Exhibition — all designed to inspire kindness through Buddhist culture. Additionally, Nan Tien Art Gallery launched an exhibition titled “Wisdom in Art and AI,” which combines AI-generated images of the Buddha’s stories with Venerable Master Hsing Yun’s One-Stroke Calligraphy, complemented by a series of engaging art workshops.
