On 28 May, the New South Wales Government and the Buddhist Council co-hosted “Vesak in Parliament” at the Fountain Court, Parliament House. Venerable Chueh Shan, Abbess of Fo Guang Shan Nan Tien Buddhist Temple Parramatta, Venerable Miao Li, The Hon. Steve Kamper MP, Minister for Multiculturalism, along with other officials and several hundred devotees, attended the event. The celebration featured chanting and a Buddha bathing ceremony to mark the Buddha’s birthday, highlighting the spirit of multicultural harmony and inclusion.
