On 14 May, the Buddhist Federation of Australia hosted the Australian Observance of the United Nations Day of Vesak 2025 at Parliament House, Canberra, attended by nearly 1,000 people. Venerable Man Ko, Chief Abbess of Fo Guang Shan Australia and New Zealand, led a monastic delegation representing Mahayana Buddhism, joining with delegates from Theravada and Tibetan Buddhism, as well as parliamentary patrons. In her address, Venerable Man Ko shared Venerable Master Hsing Yun’s “Five Harmonies” philosophy, encouraging Buddhists to extend inner joy towards world peace, and led prayers and chanting for world harmony.
