From 10-11 May, Fo Guang Shan Nan Tien Buddhist Temple Chatswood and Fo Guang Shan Nan Tien Buddhist Temple Parramatta held special Mother’s Day events. At the Chatswood Temple, the celebration was held in conjunction with the Fo Guang Shan 59th Anniversary Global Buddha’s Light Simultaneous Sutra Transcription. Venerable Jue Guan (Superintendent of Fo Guang Shan Nan Tien Temple Chatswood), along with over 50 members—including Robert Liao (BLIA Sydney Chapter Elder Advisor), Raymond Lee (member of the BLIA World Headquarters Board of Directors), and Daniel Wu (President of the BLIA Sydney Chapter)—participated in the commemorative event. At Parramatta Temple, Venerable Chueh Shan (Abbess of Fo Guang Shan Nan Tien Buddhist Temple Parramatta) led 160 devotees in chanting and sutra transcription, expressing blessings and gratitude towards mothers. Both events celebrated the spirit of compassion and wishing all mothers peace, health, and happiness, embodying the core values of Buddhist teachings.
