Supporting UN Goals Promoting Environmental and Spiritual Preservation
佛光山南天寺與佛光會雪梨協會為響應聯合國「可持續發展目標」,於2024-25年舉辦「環保與心保」系列活動。雪梨各道場暨國際佛光會雪梨協會各分會積極參與,透過多元活動推廣環保與慈悲理念。 健康蔬食推廣 凝聚佛光力量 雪梨西區三個分會7月13日舉辦「擁抱大自然-蔬食健康走」,近50位佛光人參與。11月16日西二分會在Ashfield 牛車水餐廳舉辦「蔬食讀書聯誼」,80人出席研讀《星雲大師全集》文章。30日在達令港金唐餐廳舉辦第三場蔬食讀書聯誼,43人參加。 二手義賣市集 實踐循環經濟 東一分會11月16至17日在南天講堂舉辦「二手義賣環保市集」,透過二手物品流通減少浪費,體現環保理念。 創意廚藝競賽 實踐蔬食理念 佛光山南雪梨佛光緣3月8日舉辦「蔬FUN廚藝創意比賽」,80人分為親子組和佛光人組等8組參賽,「Taste of Tradition Kitchen 」獲佛光獎。參與者現場及線上連署蔬食A計劃,共同愛護地球。 佛光三好小藝術家獎 培育環保意識 雪梨協會與澳洲星雲大師教育基金會2024年7月27日在佛光山南天講堂舉辦「2024佛光三好小藝術家獎」頒獎典禮,收集近600件徵畫、100篇徵文及180件自然藝術創作。2025年邁入第8年里程碑,6月28日舉行決選評審會,收集來自澳洲、紐西蘭、馬來西亞、印尼及菲律賓等地近500件作品。評審團包括新南威爾斯州美術館創意學習與外展部門主管 Georgia Connolly 等專家。
To support the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals and promote the principles of "Environmental and Spiritual Preservation," Fo Guang Shan Nan Tien Temple, Fo Guang Shan Sydney Branch Temples, and BLIA Sydney Chapter along with its sub-chapters, organised a series of activities throughout 2024-25. Healthy Vegetarian Promotion Gathering Fo Guang Strength The three BLIA Sydney Western Sub-Chapters have embraced the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by promoting the concept of "Environmental and Spiritual Preservation" within the community. On 13 July, more than 50 BLIA members participated in the "Embrace Nature— VegRun Health Walk." On 16 November, the West-2 Sub-Chapter hosted a "World Mealess Day—MeetUS Meetless" vegetarian book club at Kreta Ayer Ashfield, bringing together 80 participants to discuss articles from The Complete Works of Ven. Master Hsing Yun and to promote environmental awareness and compassion. On 30 November, they held another vegetarian book club at Kam Do Restaurant in Darling Harbour attended by 43 people. Secondhand Charity Market Practicing Circular Economy From 16 to 17 November, the East-1 Sub-Chapter organized a "3G4G Garage Sale Trail" secondhand charity market at Fo Guang Shan Nan Tien Buddhist Temple Parramatta. Creative Cooking Competition Practicing VEG PLAN A On 8 March, Fo Guang Shan Nan Tien Buddhist Temple Kogarah hosted "VegFUN Creative Cooking Competition" with 80 participants in eight teams, including parent-child and Fo Guang member groups. "Taste of Tradition Kitchen" won the Fo Guang Award. Participants pledged support for VEG PLAN A initiative both in person and online. Young Artist Awards: CultivatingEnvironmental Awareness BLIA Sydney Chapter and Hsing Yun Education Foundation co-hosted the 2024 Fo Guang Three Acts of Goodness Young Artist Award ceremony on 27 July at Fo Guang Shan Nan Tien Buddhist Temple Parramatta, themed "SDG3: Happiness and Peace." The event received nearly 600 art submissions, 100 essays, and 180 nature-inspired pieces. Entering its 8th year in 2025, the final judging session on 28 June collected nearly 500 works from Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Philippines. The judging panel included Georgia Connolly, Head of Creative Learning and Outreach at Art Gallery of New South Wales.
