From 11 to 14 January 2025, the Buddha’s Light International Association (BLIA) Sydney Young Adult Division successfully hosted the 25th CAMParadise at Nan Tien Temple, attracting close to 60 enthusiastic participants. Centred on the theme “Compassion and Coexistence,” the camp opened with a Dharma talk by Venerable Man Ko, Chief Abbess of Fo Guang Shan Australia and New Zealand. She highlighted that compassion must be guided by wisdom in order to become a true force for enriching life and fostering harmony. The camp was facilitated by Venerable Man Ko; Venerable Jue Wei, Director of the Humanistic Buddhist Centre at Nan Tien Institute; Ms Jennifer Jurman, a teacher from Illawarra Sports High School, along with her son; venerables of Nan Tien Temple; and Tom and Ling from the Nan Tien 30 Campaign team. Together, they accompanied and guided the youth through a meaningful journey of learning and growth grounded in compassion and wisdom. Through workshops such as “The Moral Compass,” “Charting Goodness,” “The Compass of Virtue,” and “The Bodhisattvas’ Tales,” participants explored the core principles of the Three Acts of Goodness and the Four Givings, reflecting on how to integrate these values into their daily lives. In the “Bodhisattva Quest” activity, youth engaged with nature and reflected on the wisdom and meaning of coexistence and coprosperity between the environment and people.
