3月22日，雪梨南區佛光童軍25人響應世界自然基金會「Earth Hour」活動，晚上8:30-9:30關燈一小時。童軍們認識氣候變遷與環保，在無電源時間分享環保故事、室內遊戲及為地球祈福。童軍領袖方婉晶表示，這是他們連續第五年參與，雪梨佛光童軍是澳洲首個發起參加此活動的童軍團體。

On 22 March, 25 members of BLIA Sydney Kogarah Scout took part in the World Wide Fund for Nature's "Earth Hour" campaign by switching off the lights from 8:30 to 9:30 pm. During the hour without electricity, Scouts learned about climate change and environmental protection, shared eco-friendly stories, played indoor games, and offered prayers for the planet. Scout leader Jing Fang noted that this is their fifth consecutive year participating, and the Buddha's Light Scouts were the first Scout group in Australia to initiate involvement in Earth Hour.
