Baby Blessing and Baby Shower Ceremonies
佛光山南天寺於2024-2025年舉辦多場「毓麟祈福典禮」，恭讀佛光山開山祖師星雲大師〈為佛光寶寶祈願文〉，祈願佛陀加持新生孩童與準媽媽平安健康，讓孩子們在成長中無災無難、聰明慧解、福德具足，同時培育孝順、尊師重道與護持三寶的美德。
諸佛垂慈 護佑新生與準媽媽
2024年7月21日恭請監院覺寧法師為中西方寶寶祈福，近150位親友見證；10月20日恭請南天寺妙友法師主法，近200人出席；2025年4月19日恭請監院覺寧法師為50位寶寶祈福。結合澳洲本土文化，毓麟祈福不僅為新生兒及孩童祈福，亦為準媽媽們祝福，以甘露灑淨象徵諸佛慈悲護佑，平安順遂、身心安康。
雪梨佛誕毓麟祈福 傳承智慧
2025年5月4日於雪梨「佛誕節暨多元文化慶典大會」，特別舉辦「佛誕毓麟祈福暨傳藝抓周」典禮，101個家庭、逾300位親友出席。監院覺寧法師主法，灑淨、贈送念珠，並恭讀星雲大師祈願文，傳承《吉祥經》中恭敬、謙讓、知足、感恩等人文智慧。
From 2024 to 2025, Fo Guang Shan Nan Tien Temple held several Baby Blessing Ceremonies, praying for Buddha's blessings to ensure children's health, wisdom, and wellbeing, as well as safety and auspicious blessings for expectant mothers. During the ceremonies, participants recited the "Prayer for Fo Guang Babies" written by Venerable Master Hsing Yun, Founding Master of Fo Guang Shan, invoking the Buddha's protection so that children may grow up free from calamities, physically and mentally healthy, wise and compassionate, and blessed with both merit and virtue. At the same time, the ceremonies aimed to nurture the values of filial piety, respect for teachers and elders, and dedication to the Triple Gem in the hearts of the young.
Buddhas’ Compassion, Protecting New Life and Mothers
On 21 July 2024, Venerable Jue Ning, Superintendent of Fo Guang Shan Nan Tien Temple, officiated a Baby Blessing Ceremony for Eastern and Western babies, with nearly 150 family and friends in attendance. On 20 October, 2024, Venerable Miao You led another ceremony with close to 200 participants. On 19 April, Venerable Jue Ning led a blessing ceremony for 50 babies. Blending local Australian culture, Baby Blessing Ceremony not only prays for the well-being of newborns and children but also offers blessings to expectant mothers. During the ceremony, a purification ritual symbolises Buddha's compassionate protection, blessing all with peace, wellbeing and removal of obstacles.
Sydney Buddha’s Birthday Baby Blessing Ceremony: “Passing Down the Legacy of Wisdom”
On 4 May 2025, as part of the Sydney Buddha's Birthday Multicultural Festival, a special Baby Blessing Ceremony was held. The event brought together 101 families and over 300 relatives and friends. Venerable Jue Ning, Superintendent of Fo Guang Shan Nan Tien Temple, led the ceremony, which included purification, gifting of prayer beads, and recitation of Venerable Master Hsing Yun's prayer for a newborn. The ceremony celebrated the passing on of humanistic virtues from the Mangala Sutra—including respect, humility, contentment, and gratitude—to the next generation.
