On 11 and 16 May, Venerable Man Ko, Chief Abbess of Fo Guang Shan Australia and New Zealand, led nearly 200 devotees from both Eastern and Western backgrounds in the Global Buddha's Light Simultaneous Sutra Transcription at the Main Shrine of Nan Tien Temple. Simultaneously with Fo Guang members worldwide, Heart Sutra was transcribed to celebrate the 59th anniversary of Fo Guang Shan's founding. The event featured Dharma speech by Venerable Master Hsing Yun, Founding Master of Fo Guang Shan, and Most Venerable Hsin Bao, the Head Abbot of Fo Guang Shan, highlighting how the process of sutra transcription can allow the wisdom of Buddha-Dharma to leave a mark in the mind. Venerable Man Ko shared that the event not only brought Fo Guang members together across the globe but also introduced the broader community to the Dharma, furthering the goals of promoting culture, education, charity, and the purification of the mind.
