On 15 June, Fo Guang Shan Nan Tien Buddhist Temple Parramatta held a "Taking Refuge Ceremony," presided by the abbess, Venerable Chueh Shan. Eighteen devotees from across Australia, aged between 4 and 65, took refuge under the Triple Gem. Among the new devotees was Audrey Blackman, daughter of Huijun Qiu, President of BLIA Sydney East 1 Sub-chapter, highlighting the passing on of Fo Guang faith and legacy within families. In another touching moment, Fo Guang member Chunyun Xu's grandchildren, four-year-old Youshen Li and seven-year-old Youxin Li, also took refuge together, marking a heartfelt occasion of three generations following the Buddhist path.
