前台灣駐澳洲代表李宗儒博士於12月28日重返佛光山南天寺，與佛光山澳紐總住持滿可法師緬懷32年前與佛光山開山祖師星雲大師的殊勝因緣。1991年，李博士應邀參與南天寺奠基典禮，大師曾讚歎「臥龍崗」蘊含中華文化，並贈「宗事儒心」墨寶。李博士感嘆道場從荒地發展為今日宏偉建築群，見證大師弘法利生願景的實現。

On 28 December, Dr. Francis Lee, former Taiwanese representative to Australia, returned to Fo Guang Shan Nan Tien Temple and met with Venerable Man Ko, Chief Abbess of Fo Guang Shan Australia and New Zealand. During the visit, he reminisced about his close connection with Venerable Master Hsing Yun, the Founding Master of Fo Guang Shan, which spans over 32 years. In 1991, Dr. Lee was invited to participate in the groundbreaking ceremony of Nan Tien Temple. Venerable Master Hsing Yun praised “Wollongong” as a site rich in Chinese culture and presented his calligraphy of “Zong Shi Ru Xin,” a phrase meaning “a heart devoted to important matters and rooted in Confucian virtues”. Dr. Lee expressed admiration for how the temple has transformed from barren land into a magnificent temple complex, witnessing the realisation of Master Hsing Yun’s vision to propagate Dharma for the benefit of all sentient beings.
