BLIA Oceania Dharma Symposium

國際佛光會雪梨協會舉辦4場「2024大洋洲法寶講座」。10月6日,佛光山南天講堂邀請國際佛光會檀教師曾廣志博士以主題「信、求、拜、念、學、行—從信仰層次談人間佛教的生活修行」,分享人間佛教生活實踐。


10月26日,佛光山北雪梨佛光緣以「來自東方的祝福」為主題,禮請佛光山岡山講堂住持慧炬法師、佛光山叢林學院男眾學部專任教師慧中法師、慧曦法師及慧達法師線上宣講藥師法門的涵義與修持方法。


11月23日,佛光山南雪梨佛光緣在新南威爾斯州州立圖書館邀請佛光淨土文教基金會執行長慧知法師主講「佛教建築藝術與生活修行」探討佛教建築如何從印度傳播至各地,融合本土特色展現佛法義理。


國際佛光會雪梨協會6月28日邀請東京佛光山住持覺用法師,透過線上主講2025大洋洲法寶講座「人間佛教的啟示與我」,分享人間佛教在日本弘法的歷程與本土化成果。

As part of 2024 Oceania Dharma Symposium series, the Buddha     zLight International Association (BLIA) Sydney Chapter organised three insightful sessions. On 6 October, Fo Guang Shan Nan Tien Buddhist Temple in Parramatta invited Dr. Eric Chan, a BLIA Dharma lecturer, who presented on the theme: "Faith, Seek, Worship, Chant, Study, Practice — Exploring Daily Practice in Humanistic Buddhism from the Perspective of Faith." He shared valuable insights into how principles of Humanistic Buddhism can be practically applied in daily life. 


Following this, on 26 October, Fo Guang Shan Nan Tien Buddhist Temple Chatswood held an online session titled "Blessings from the East." This lecture featured teachings by Venerable Hui Ju, aAbbot of Fo Guang Shan Gang Shan Temple; Venerable Hui Zhong, a teacher at the FGS Tsung-Lin University Men’s College; and Venerables Hui Xi and Venerable Hui Da. They explained the significance and practices of Medicine Buddha Dharma Cultivation. 


The series continued on 23 November at the State Library of New South Wales, where Venerable Hui Zhi, Chief Executive of the Fo Guang Pure Land Cultural & Educational Foundation, delivered a lecture titled "Buddhist Architectural Aesthetics and Life Cultivation." The presentation examined how Buddhist architecture, originating in India, has spread across different regions and integrated local features and elements, reflecting Buddhist teachings through timeless design. 


On 28 June, the Sydney Chapter of the Buddha’s Light International Association invited Venerable Chueh Yong, Abbess of Tokyo Fo Guang Shan Vihara, to deliver an online lecture as part of the 2024 Oceania Dharma Symposium series titled “Inspirations of Humanistic Buddhism and My Experience.” During the talk, Venerable Chueh Yong shared insights into the propagation and localisation of Humanistic Buddhism in Japan, highlighting its development and achievements in the Japanese context.
