HYEF is dedicated to promoting the transmission of Buddhist culture and academic development. To address current gaps in local Buddhist studies, HYEF sponsors the Buddhism in Australia research project, jointly led by the Nan Tien Institute and several Australian universities. Between 2024 and 2025, the project conducted multiple field studies, documenting Buddhist heritage, interviewing monastics and devotees, and exploring the development and social impact of Buddhism in Australia. HYEF hopes that the research outcomes will enhance the public's understanding of Buddhism's history and contributions in Australia and further promote Buddhist education and compassionate values in contemporary society.
