"Wisdom and Light" Illuminates Oceania— Reopening of the Nan Tien Museum Marks 30 Years of Humanistic Buddhism To commemorate the 30th anniversary of Fo Guang Shan Nan Tien Temple, the newly refurbished Nan Tien Museum was officially reopened on 22 September 2024 by Most Venerable Hsin Bau, Head Abbot of Fo Guang Shan. Originally established in 2015, the gallery has been redesigned to reflect three decades of Humanistic Buddhism flourishing in Oceania.One of the highlights of the new exhibition is the immersive digital art experience “Wisdom and Light – The Life of Venerable Master Hsing Yun.” Featuring Master Hsing Yun’s signature One-Stroke Calligraphy, the installation takes visitors on a multisensory journey through the compassionate and courageous life of the Founder of Fo Guang Shan, whose vision of “spreading the light of the Buddha to all corners of the world” continues to inspire. The Museum also features the development of Humanistic Buddhism in Australia and New Zealand, including the founding of Nan Tien Temple, major milestones, the role of Nan Tien Institute in education and community service—documenting how Buddhism, culture, art, and education have enriched society over the past 30 years.
