To mark its 10th anniversary on 30 May, the Humanistic Buddhism Centre (HBC) at Nan Tien Institute officially released From Aspiration to Impact, a landmark digital book chronicling a decade of pioneering research, public engagement, and community transformation. The publication received heartfelt endorsements from Most Venerable Hsin Bau, Head Abbot of Fo Guang Shan Monastery; Venerable Man Ko, Chair of the Hsing Yun Education Foundation Australia and Chief Abbess of Australia and New Zealand; and Professor Denise Kirkpatrick, President of Nan Tien Institute. They reflect on how the centre has evolved since its establishment in 2015—from a local community initiative to an influential international organisation dedicated to translating humanistic Buddhist principles into education and social service. From Aspiration to Impact offers a comprehensive overview of the centre’s growth, highlighting its development from a single community outreach project to a vibrant hub with four part-time staff, a global network of volunteers, and extensive collaborations—showcasing the transformative influence of Buddhist wisdom and compassion in society.
