The Humanistic Buddhism Centre at Nan Tien Institute organised a series of online meetings for the Humanistic Buddhism Special Interest Group throughout 2024 and 2025. These meetings attracted a diverse range of scholars and researchers from around the world. On 16 July 2024, Dr. Shou-Jen Kuo from University of the West shared insights into lesson design for Humanistic Buddhism. Joining him, Dr. Yu Sang from the University of Sydney explored Venerable Fa Fang's interpretation of Yogacara in relation to modern scientific perspectives. The meeting held on 15 October 2024 focused on the publication plans for the sixth volume of the Studies on Humanistic Buddhism Journal. Maje Purino from the University of San Carlos presented her research on the ethical framework of Humanistic Buddhism, emphasising its importance in addressing the complexities of modern life. During the session on 18 March 2025, Venerable You Heng from the University of Illinois at Chicago provided an update on the development of the Fo Guang AI Translator. Additionally, Venerable Miao Jing, the abbess of Fo Guang Shan Mabuhay Temple in the Philippines, discussed the parallels and differences between Humanistic Buddhism and Engaged Buddhism.
