From 17 November to 4 December, Venerable Dr. Jue Wei, Director of the Humanistic Buddhism Centre at Nan Tien Institute, travelled to the United States. During her visit, she presented research on the Buddhism in Australia project at the annual meeting of the American Academy of Religion. She also conducted workshops and delivered lectures at Hsi Lai Temple, University of the West, and Hsi Fang Temple. Drawing on the Huayan Sutra, Venerable Dr. Jue Wei discussed how Buddhist wisdom can be integrated with modern technologies such as artificial intelligence. She also examined the contemporary relevance of Humanistic Buddhism through the Platform Sutra of the Sixth Patriarch. Emphasising the importance of blending tradition with innovation, she highlighted that such integration is vital for Buddhism to effectively meet the challenges of the globalised era.
