The Fo Guang Nan Tien Weekend Buddhist Youth Academy, founded in 2016, upholds Fo Guang Shan vision of “fostering talents through education.” Now in its 25th cohort, the Academy continues to provide a platform for young people to experience temple life and learn the Dharma. Between July 2024 and June 2025, the Academy maintained its tri-semester structure, with intakes in February, May, and October. A total of 15 youth participants from Australia, Mainland China, Taiwan, and Malaysia took part in this year’s program. Through regular classes, temple services, and participation in Dharma functions and festivals, students engaged in holistic learning and spiritual growth. The curriculum integrated both theory and practice, covering topics such as Buddhist scriptures, Buddhist history, Understanding Fo Guang Shan and Humanistic Buddhism, the Bodhisattva path, and songs from Sounds of the Human World. Practical components such as walking meditation, communal chores, and participation in Dharma services helped students apply the Dharma in daily life.
