2024年「世界佛光童軍大露營」7月3至7日在澳洲南天大學戶外紮營，課程吸引逾230位來自美國、加拿大、台灣、馬來西亞、菲律賓等地區代表線上線下共同參與。

展現佛光精神 佛光童軍世界化

世界童軍運動組織（WOSM）顧問（成人童軍）2023-2026暨澳洲童軍副主席及亞太區委員會委員 Mr. Elston Hynd、新南威爾士州童軍首席專員 Mr. Lloyd Nurthen 、國際佛光會佛光童軍聯誼委員會主任委員李耀淳、世界總會秘書長覺培法師、世界總會大洋洲副秘書長滿可法師、世界佛光童軍輔導法師覺多法師等貴賓雲集，見證佛光童軍歷史新頁。開營典禮上，獻唱全球首支佛光童軍主題曲 Buddha's Light Scout，由紐約協會會長陳澄慧創作，藉此鼓舞佛光童軍們謹記佛光精神和三好理念，用信仰照亮方向，實踐三好，成為慈悲、勇敢、行善的世界公民。

The 2024 Buddha’s Light Scouts World Camp was held from 3-7 July on the temple grounds, at the Nan Tien Institute, and on the institute’s outdoor grounds, where participants’ tents were set up for accommodation. The five-day camp brought together over 230 participants from around the world, including the United States, Canada, Taiwan, Malaysia, and the Philippines, with many participating both in person and online.

Showcasing the Spirit of Buddha’s Light and Its Global Reach

Honoured guests, including Mr. Elston Hynd AM, Advisor (Adult Scouts) to the World Organisation of the Scout Movement (WOSM) for 2023–2026, Deputy Chief Commissioner of Scouts Australia (2023–2026), and a member of the Asia-Pacific Region Scout Committee; Mr. Lloyd Nurthen, Chief Commissioner of Scouts NSW; Mr. Li Yao Chun, Chairperson of the Buddha’s Light International Association Buddhist Scouts Fellowship Committee; Venerable Jue Pei, Secretary-General of the BLIA World Headquarters; Venerable Man Ko, Vice Secretary General of BLIA World Headquarters Oceania; and Venerable Jue Duo, Monastic Advisor of the Buddha’s Light Scouts Headquarters, gathered to witness a significant moment in the history of Buddha’s Light Scouts. At the opening ceremony, Buddha’s Light Scouts performed the camp’s theme song, “Buddha’s Light Scout” – the first of its kind worldwide. Composed by Jenny Chen, President of NY Radiance Sub-chapter, the song encourages scouts to embody the Buddha’s Light spirit and the Three Acts of Goodness, to use faith to guide their path, practise kindness and bravery, and to become compassionate, courageous global citizens grounded in Buddhist values.
