Supporting the SDGs and Celebrating NAIDOC Week: Immersing in Indigenous Culture

The Buddha’s Light Scouts World Camp offers a diverse array of exciting activities, including Eco Temple Tour, Walking Meditation, Indigenous Cultural Experiences, and Sydney Day Trip — all aimed at raising awareness and fostering a sense of environmental responsibility. Scouts came together to support the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), taking practical steps to care for the environment and promote mental well-being, while taking responsibilities for our planet. In conjunction with the NAIDOC Week, Scouts also took part in workshops such as painting boomerang, learning about cultural artifacts for survival, Aboriginal dance and the traditional instrument didgeridoo. These immersive cultural experiences allowed the Scouts to gain a genuine understanding of how Indigenous Australians deeply respect and love their land and life, as well as an appreciation for the richness, history, and vibrant culture of Australia’s First Nations.
